SORAKAYA KOFTA CURRY

INGREDIENTS:

FOR KOFTA'S:
  1. sorakaya/bottlegourd-1 medium
  2. Besan/chikpea flour-75gm
  3. Green chili's chopped-6
  4. Cilantro-1/2 bunch
  5. Lime-1/2 piece

FOR GRAVY:

  1. Onion-100gms
  2. Ginger garlic paste-1 teaspoon
  3. Dhaniya powder-1 teaspoon
  4. Poppy seeds/ghusghus-20 gms
  5. Dry coconut powder-30gms
  6. Tomatoes chopped-100 gms
  7. Curd-1 cup
  8. Chili powder-2 teaspoons
  9. Turmeric-1/8 Th spoon
  10. Salt-to taste
  11. Oil

METHOD:

Peal the skin of bottle gourd,grate finely,sprinkle some salt on this ,let it rest for 15 minutes,press hard to remove water from the pieces.

In a pan ,heat oil,now add chilli's, besan,fry until nice aroma comes out,now add bottle gourd paste,add lime juice to this mixture.

Make into round balls,and deep fry in the oil.

METHOD FOR GRAVY:

Heat oil in a pan,add chopped onion,fry till it changes to a nice golden colour,now add ginger garlic paste,and tomatoes,coconut powder,coriander powder,ghus ghus paste,curd,red chili powder,salt and turmeric.Boil it on a low medium flame,cook until the gravy thickens,when its done add kofta's and garnish with cilantro.Serve hot
